Research democratization is encouraging advocacy rather than having everyone do user research.

Just because team members talk to customers doesn't mean they're leading a research project or sprint. It's about creating an environment where everyone can join and contribute to the user research process, regardless of their job title. Most of the time, it's about usefully responding to research, not conducting the research.
